Birthdays at the diner are not only for guests. Between July and September the diner posted several crew birthdays.

In July it was a member of the team. In August it was one of the weekend cooks, then the newest member of the team, who got "a big ol' cake." In September everyone gathered around one more cake.
The August post put it simply: you may start as a new team member, but it doesn't take long before you're part of the family.
