If you were in the diner this past Saturday, you probably heard us. We might have been a little loud, but we had a good reason! Miss Linda, one of our favorite neighborhood friends, turned 80 years young.

Moment from the diner

Linda has been coming in for her Saturday pancakes for as long as I can remember. She always brings a book, always has a smile, and always shares a bit of her dessert with whoever is working the register.

"At the end of the day, a diner isn't just about the food — it's about the people on the stools next to you."

—Adam

We surprised her with a double-chocolate cake (her favorite), a candle that didn't want to blow out, and a chorus of 'Happy Birthday' that probably shook the windows. Seeing the look on her face reminded me why we call ourselves a family diner. Birthdays are big deals around here, and we're honored that Linda chose to spend hers with us.

Happy Birthday, Linda! Here's to many more Saturday pancakes.
